Official Scouting Report

  • 4Class Rating
  • RHP/2BPosition Projection

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cameron continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pre-season All American event. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved, now showing well above average as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body, gaining ground. Hands are clean and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 87 mph. Fastball showed a range of 85-87 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Cameron will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way player.

03/20/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Greensboro, NC Cam ran his best 60 to date at 7.16 seconds and raised raw velocity to 92 MPH during his last workout in Greensboro. He is a talented 2-way player with a high ceiling. At 2B, Cam has active footwork, a presentable glove, and he fields low and athletically. He covers ground, makes plays consistently, and throws accuracy with carry from a quick/clean arm action. On the mound, Cam has good balance, on-time hand separation, and a quick arm action. He has a balanced delivery, his off-speed show well, and he finishes in a complete position. More extension and a longer stride can help abilities on the mound get even better. At the plate, Cam has an athletic stance, good balance, and he loads his hands back well. He has fast bat speed, a direct swing path, and he works the ball gap to gap.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Cameron brown is a stand-out 2024 prospect. A two-way player that has some serious tools which project at the next level. He has an athletic frame with good athletic actions in every part of his game. Immediately noticeable is his arm strength with a raw velo of 89. Currently, on the mound he is 80-83 on his FB but the velocity has some upside and as he keeps using his legs more efficiently it will start to translate. At 2B he shows good actions and ability to come through the ball. Offensively, he swings a good bat, with plus bat speed for his age. He has potential gap to gap power and is able to stay inside the ball.

01/15/2021 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (HS) Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power abilities have improved, displaying solid hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and gradual break. He maintains arm speed with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

11/01/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Cameron is a lean, athletic 2B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate with carry (80 mph velocity) across the diamond. He moves well laterally and covers ground in the MIF. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, he shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed with slight sink but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Cameron has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
