11/21/2020 - New England Regional Offensive Skills Weekend Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Offensively, hitting abilities are now well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap to gap pop.

09/27/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Brockton (Boston), MA Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.12 runner. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body during the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his best to date at 2.10 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. At 3B, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. At the plate, he shows a tall, closed setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are loose and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cameron is an athletic and talented Catching prospect that was eager to learn. He has solid hands behind the dish and back picked a few guys on the bases. He is a leader on the field and a grinder. He receives the ball well and he makes strong, accurate throws. When blocking, he leads with his glove and tucks his chin. When throwing, he needs to continue to exchange the ball in front of his chest and rotate his back side when throwing. At the plate, Cameron starts in a squared stance, has a simple load, and gets his front foot down on time. He hunts the fastball early and has a middle approach. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and create backside rotation with his lower half. Cameron will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/17/2019 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Cameron is a catcher with a strong lower body. Behind the plate, Cameron has active footwork, he tracks well to his glove, and he holds a low target. He covers the 5 hole when blocking, centers well on his body, and throws with a short arm action with accuracy to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.28 seconds. A more square set-up and a quicker release can help catching get better. At the plate, Cameron has a square stance and stride, and he loads his hands well. He swings on plane, lets the ball travel, and works it well the other way. Improved timing, bat speed, and more lower 1/2 will help hitting numbers spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
