Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3BPosition Projection

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cameron showed very good tools once again, in his most recent outing with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he had a great approach at the plate with plus feel for the barrel and pop at contact. He went gap-to-gap with his approach and ran the bases with plus instincts. At the hot corner, he made plays with active feet and threw with carry. He was subtle with the glove, had excellent body control, and worked with smooth overall actions. In all - Domico is ready to step in and be an immediate impact guy playing everyday 3B and hitting in the middle of the lineup.

09/28/2014 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Cameron showed very good offensive skills and nice defensive abilities during his last workout in Pittsburgh. At the plate, Cameron has a balanced / athletic set-up, a good load, and he swings in good rhythm. He has quick / direct hands to the ball, gets solid extension through, and has pop to all fields. At 3B, Cameron has good pre-pitch action, good body control to the ball, and he fields out front of his body. His hands are soft, he plays through properly, and delivers the ball with life to his target. If Cameron can quicken his lateral movements, and shorten his arm action, solid defense can get even getter. On the mound, Cameron has a free / loose arm action, a good finish, and he competes in the zone with his pitches. Sharper off-speed and not landing closed will help abilities on the mound get better.

08/04/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Cameron is a talented, solid, 2-way player who excels at 3B and at the plate. Defensively, Cameron has athletic actions at the hot corner, he gets in a good ready position, and his hands are sure. He has proper footwork to the ball, good body control, and a strong / accurate arm to his target. At the plate, Cameron has good hand-eye coordination, fast bat speed, and he swings aggressively. He swings from a strong / athletic set-up, and he has very good pop in his bat. Better timing will only help solid hitting get even better. On the mound, Cameron has a fluid delivery, he keeps his eyes on target, and his arm is loose and free to the plate. More arm extension and a better finish can help mound effectiveness get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
