Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cameron is an athletic 2019 2-way prospect with a strong frame. He is a hard worker and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At 2B, Cameron presents a low/early glove, has smooth hands, and plays through his back hand. He needs to continue to work on being on time with his prep step and anticipating contact. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Cameron starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and hits off a firm front side. His hands work well and he stays inside the ball. He needs to continue to hunt the fastball and read the ball out of the pitcher's hand. On the bump, Cameron separates on time, has a clean arm stroke, and drives the back leg toward the plate. He needs to find his balance point and work down hill in his delivery. His fastball is flat and has some depth on his breaking ball. Adding a 2 seam fastball in his arsenal will allow him to throw a pitch with arm side run. Cameron is a very talented kid that needs to continue to challenge himself in his work. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/18/2018 - College PREP - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Cameron is an athletic and talented 2019 2-way player. At 2B, Cameron presents a low/early glove and has fluid movement to the ball. He works from the ground up and has a clean exchange. At the plate, Cameron starts in a squared stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He attacks the inside part of the ball and keeps a middle approach. On the bump, Cameron gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has arms side run on his fastball. Cameron will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
