01/21/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Omaha, NE Cameron continues to show a promising future on the diamond as he has improved his baseball abilities. He showed at SS and on the mound for the first time at the event. At the plate, he improved his power potential, now showing well above average through an open athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he utilizes his lower half well with gap-to-gap pop. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he plays through balls with a low approach. Hands are soft / sure as he presents well out front. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF. He shows off his athletic abilities on the slow roller play. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-75 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
