07/09/2013 - College PREP - Minneapolis, MN Cameron is a tall, lanky RHP/SS that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects slightly better on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He uses his lower half well through a strong balance point as he works in line and on time. Fastball shows a range of 78-81 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with slight break. He maintains his arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for. Slider resembles his breaking ball but is slightly harder. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.25 60 time. Feet are active / aggressive as he works to square up balls through a low approach and displays clean hands. For defensive grades to continue to improve, he needs to present hands more out front. At the plate, Jurek shows balanced approach with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. With 2 years to further develop, Cameron has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
