Official Scouting Report

  • RHP/2BPosition Projection

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Cameron is a 2026 2B/RHP who worked hard to improve his ability at the National World Series. At 2B, he showed good hands as fields out front, with a low funnel, and ability to make routine plays. Made accurate throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 67mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. He takes an aggressive swing and is balanced at contact. He hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph during BP. At the event, he reached base 3 times with a triple, and 2 singles. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He gathers over the rubber and gets his chest over his knee. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 64mph with some tailing action, and a 9/3 shaped breaking ball. In 2 innings of work, Cameron punched out 3 batters. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way player having a bright future on the baseball field.

04/10/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Sanford (Orlando), FL Cameron is a RHP/2B prospect who will graduate in 2028. On the mound, Cameron gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Cameron operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63mph with tailing action. Curveball sits from 57-58mph with 10-4 break. Slider sits from 59-60mph. Loosening his arm action can help Cameron improve his pitch command. In the field, Cameron makes the routine plays and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate/on-line throws to his target. Cameron can field ground balls more efficiently by getting into a more athletic fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with center balance. He leads well with his lower half and works through a level swing, spraying the ball to all fields. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Cameron barrel up more baseballs. With six more years to develop, Cameron has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
