12/27/2018 - 2018 Inaugural West Coast Winter Classic - La Verne, CA Cameron is a strong and athletic 2023 2-way prospect that worked hard all week. At 1B, Cameron presents a low/early glove, he fields the ball in an athletic position, and makes accurate throws on double plays. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step and have proper footwork off the bag. At the plate, Cameron starts in a closed stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and attacks the fastball. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball, creating backside drive with his lower half, and keeping his head down at contact will help prevent him from pulling off the ball. On the bump, Cameron has a simple delivery and has good presence. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and works downhill. He throws his fastball down in zone but developing a secondary pitch such as a change up will elevate his game to the next level. Cameron will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/05/2018 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Cameron continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He works to square ball up and makes the routine plays. He displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact through line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 5. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 54-57 mph with sinking action. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Cameron is a young (2023 grad) L/L 2-way player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. On the mound, this crafty lefty works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. Arm works loose & free as he repeats well. FB now tops out at 57 mph while showing slight run. He pounds the zone and competes, challenging hitters to swing the bat. He finishes complete and in a ready fielding position. Working to get stronger glove-side lead / tuck will help while driving his lower 1/2 downhill off of the rubber will help to get more into his FB. At 1B, Cameron has active pre-pitch footwork and comes to get the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. As a hitter, this lefty has a good eye for the zone, waiting patiently for a pitch he can square up (he drew 5 walks in 8 total at bats). Swing is direct to and through the zone as he barrels the ball up and looks to drive it on a line. Getting loaded sooner with more hand separation will help to increase bat speed resulting in more power. Cameron is a talented player who still has a ton of time to develop and physically mature.

10/29/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Santa Rosa, CA Cameron is a (L/L) LHP/1B who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at 1B, he takes active cuts/angles and gets square when fielding GB's. He funnels the ball with soft hands and has a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this lefty gathers over the rubber with a 2-pitch mix. He delivers a (FB, CH) from a 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action and stays directional towards home plate. With the stick, Cameron shows a square setup with balance. His lower 1/2 stays firm as he swings on-plane through the zone and drives pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quick footwork
2. Work on pick's
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Stride-balance
2. Arm extension
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Improve bat speed
3. Level out swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
