09/28/2014 - National Tryout - Pittsburgh, PA Cameron showed good stuff behind the plate during his last workout in Pittsburgh. Defensively, Cameron has soft hands, he blocks the baseball well, and he covers the 5 hole properly. He looks it in, has good body control, and his arm is accurate to his target. Offensively, Cameron is a contact hitter with an activated load. He has direct hands to the ball he uses his lower 1/2 well.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Cameron is a solid catcher that has a bright future in the game. Behind the dish he has a balanced setup, average footwork, and receives with firm hands. He gains ground when blocking and shows the proper technique. His exchange is quick and he makes strong throws with good life to his target. At the plate Cameron has an open stance, good balance, and an inside out swing. He delivers the barrel with good accuracy and makes solid contact. He sprays the ball to all fields and has a good opposite field approach. With his knowledge of the game, Cameron should be fun to watch as he gets older.

09/22/2013 - National Tryout - Pittsburgh, PA Cameron continues to make strides in his game. Offensively, this right handed swinger gets back into a strong loaded position and delivers the barrel on a level path. He gets good extension through contact and drives the ball. Behind the plate, pop times are not as low as 2.16 coming from a quick/clean exchange. He gains ground and works in-line toward his target. Cameron is a very talented player and is only a 2017 grad.

04/07/2013 - National Tryout - Pittsburgh, PA Cameron has shown significant improvements since Vero Beach. Behind he plate he showed in line direction, accurate throws, and sure/soft hands. He showed good balance in his setup and did stick pitches. He will need to focus on gaining quicker feet, which will help with blocking skills creating better angles to the ball. Offensively, Cameron continues to show an aggressive approach with a short swing path and centered balance. Hitting grades will improve with better rhythm in his load, using more lower half.

12/27/2012 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Vero Beach Cameron is a athletic player with a strong/sturdy frame, ideal for catching. Behind the dish Cameron displays a strong arm with life and carry. He has firm hands receiving and needs to work on his footwork and blocking. At the plate Cameron never gets cheated. He has a good setup with a short stride and good balance. Cameron could improve his rhythm and getting his hands back in his stride and load as well as using his lower half more effectively creating better hip drive. Cameron has a great physical and mental make-up and with these improvements has a lot of potential in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
