01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cameron continues to showcase his athleticism on the baseball field. A two way player in the 2021 grad class, this OF/LHP can do it all. Showcased his speed at the event, running a 6.53s 60 Yd. Dash. Defensively he is always ready, works behind the baseball and fields it cleanly with a nice exchange. At the plate, has an athletic setup, has a small, simple and on time load. Makes consistent contact to get on base where he can make huge impacts. On the mound, mixes 3 pitches. Fastball (71-72mph), a 2-8 Curveball ranging from 63-64mph and a 68-69mph Changeup. Keeps his arm speed the same with all of his pitches to create some deception. His low 3/4 delivery kept hitters at bay, striking out 7 in 3 IP without surrendering a hit.

09/30/2018 - College PREP - Raleigh, NC Cameron continues to show a lot of improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a superior runner at 6.25. Defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and aggressive as he attacks balls in the zone. Swing path is level and he shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 76 mph. Fastball shows slight arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight run but throws too hard to fastball velocity. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

05/21/2017 - College PREP - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Cameron is an athletic OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is superior as indicated by his 60 time of 6.59. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel, displaying gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is outstanding as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Arm strength is well above average as indicated by his top velocity of 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 66-67 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Cameron has the makings of a special type player with time and room to continue to progress his game, possibly as a two-way player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
