10/28/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures West Cameron is a talented 2-way prospect who is good both as a 3B and a RHP. He has really improved since we first saw him in 2015, growing into a physical 6'3"/195-pound athlete who has the ability to impact the game in many ways. At the plate Cameron showed natural hitting actions with a rhythmic trigger and coordinated RH stroke. He hit the ball with authority in batting practice and carried it into the game with a 2 RBI 2B. Defensively, Cameron moves well side-to-side with dependable hands and showed plenty of arm from the left side of the diamond. On the mound, Cameron touched 88 mph and showed good tilt on his breaking ball. Overall, Cameron is an excellent player whose highest ceiling may ultimately be as a 3B with an impact bat.

12/13/2015 - College PREP - Thousand Oaks, CA Cameron is a lanky SS with a promising future on the diamond. Feet are quick / athletic as he moves well laterally, displaying range and a sure backhand. Hands / feet work well together, showing solid fundamentals in the MIF. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry on his throws. At the plate, hands are quick and work inside the baseball as he uses the middle of the field through an aggressive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat. With 4 years to further develop, Cameron has a lot of potential and is a player to continue to follow.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
