Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cameron continues to showcase solid talent as a two way player in the 2019 class. This C/RHP combo did very well both behind the plate and on the mound at the event. He sets up low and athletically, centers the ball well on receiving and blocking and he controls the ball very well no matter where it is thrown. He can get out of his stance nicely and explodes on his throws to bases. He shot a 1.97 release to 2nd base which is highly effective in controlling the run game. He loads well at the plate, has explosive hips and direct hands. He flashes very good bat speed and really displayed his ability to get on base. He reached safely 5 of 6 plate appearances, drawing 4 walks. His plate discipline is highly impressive. On the mound, this RHP shows a good feel for syncing his mechanics. He has a nice controlled, simple delivery which allows him to operate with a good pace and very good command of both his fastball (83-85mph) and curveball (70-74mph). Cameron does a great job of playing both battery positions and he really excels at both due to a high understanding of the pitching and run game. Cameron has a very bright future on the diamond.

12/27/2016 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying pro level power potential. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with a HR. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean/transfer exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.11 with accuracy and carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone through the receiving process. He uses his body well in the blocking process and moves well laterally. Receiving/blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a team player.

11/13/2016 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Cameron is a talented C/3B who will graduate in 2019. Behind the plate, Cameron uses his feet efficiently and gets into an athletic, square position to receive the ball with soft hands. He has a clean exchange to throw with a short, quick action. He gains momentum to 2B well which allows his throws to carry and remain on-line to his target. In the field, Cameron uses his feet efficiently as he covers ground to field with firm hands. He has a clean exchange to throw with a short, quick action from a high 3/4 angle. He gains momentum to his target well which allows his throws to carry and remain on-line. Cameron can improve at 3B by softening his hands to field ground balls. At the plate, Cameron sets up in a square stance and takes his stride on time to meet the ball. He is smooth getting back into his load and comes through the zone with good bat speed. He takes an on-plane swing path to the ball which leads to solid, square contact. Cameron can improve as a hitter by gaining more lower half explosion in his swing. Overall, Cameron is a talented, young prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Cameron is a very talented, LHH 2-way player who plays the game hard. With the bat, this lefty stands in well with a square setup and rhythm in his hands. He tracks pitches into the zone, waiting for his pitch. Swing is level as he hits against a firm front side - working to engage his lower 1/2 (2 for 5 with 2 singles). Behind the plate, Cameron sits in well and presents a low target. Exchange is clean with strong/accurate throws down to 2B - pop times now at 2.27. Continuing to develop his lateral movements (blocking technique) will help to take his tools to the next level. Cameron is a hard-nosed player who will only continue to progress in the years to come.

06/30/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Rindge, NH Cameron is a talented 2-way player (C/3B) who has a solid build (5'8"/175). With the bat, this strong righty shows an aggressive approach, looking to swing as soon as he steps into the box. Barrel delivery is quick with authority as he connects and the ball jumps off the bat. He hits the ball where it's pitched and utilizes the entire field. Behind the dish, he sits in well with good flexion and sway. Transfer/Exchange is quick/clean as gains ground and fires accurate throws down to 2B (pop times of 2.28). At 3B, Seymour shows active prep footwork on the balls of his feet. He gathers smoothly and gets rid of it across the diamond. Cameron has a ton of skills and is a player to keep an eye on. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Contact points
2. Swing path
Catching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Lateral movement
Infield
1. Glove presentation
2. Play through ball

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
