01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cameron is a 2023 C/OF who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. Behind the plate, he starts from an athletic low position with a good glove angle. His feet are quick and effective and he is agile to both sides of his body. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good accuracy to the right side of the bag on his throw downs. Cameron showcased a best pop time of 1.95 and a raw velo of 92mph. At the plate, he has an athletic setup, square stride, and effective load. He has a quiet head and consistent swing path. In game, his 86mph exit velo correlated with a hard hit single to left field. Going into his last season of high school baseball, we foresee that Cameron will continue to excel on the diamond.

07/20/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Stockton (Sacramento), CA This talented 2-way player continues to progress nicely. Behind the plate, he tracks pitches into a soft mitt and sticks it, framing well. He is quick laterally, working to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Throws to 2B are on the bag with pop times now as low as 2.14. In the OF, he gets good reads off of the bat and takes good angles working into position behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2-hand and has a clean transfer to throw. As a hitter, Cam shows a balanced setup with fluid rhythm to load. He takes a hack with + bat speed, squares the ball up and has pop to all parts of the field. Valentine is a solid 2-way prospect who will make an impact in this only his sophomore year.

02/09/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Cameron is an athletic and talented C/RHP that will graduate in 2023. Behind the dish, Cameron shows a square and athletic set up to receive the pitch. As he works to throw his exchanges are quick and clean and gets rid of the ball with a quick arm action delivering the ball with good carry with a 2.18 pop and an 82 MPH arm velo. Blocking, Cameron shows agile range creating good angles to keep the ball in front. At the plate, Cam sets up in a slight crouch getting a square stride as he shows smooth mechanics keeping his weight balanced. He delivers a fast bat speed getting the barrel on plane early making square contact and a line drive approach to all fields. On the mound, Cameron shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB and a CH. The FB shows some tail, the CB is 11-5 with good shape, and the CH is 63-66 with good AS run. Pitching, Cameron gathers over the rubber well showing a clean arm action as he works with good direction down the mound. He finishes out in front with good extension. Cameron shows a solid foundation for a young player and will continue to grow and develop.

Behind the plate, Cameron shows quick footwork and blocks well to his glove side. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with a firm glove. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid contact to his pull side. Cameron can improve as a hitter by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. Changeup sits from 67-69mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release more can help Cameron improve as a pitcher. Overall, Cameron is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.47. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. He is vocal and shows great leadership traits behind the dish. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
