03/17/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Ashburn (DC), VA Cameron is an athletic OF prospect who continues to make improvements on the field. In the OF, Cameron shows active footwork and uses his speed to cover ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and plays through the ball well, leading to accurate throws with great carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. He is smooth getting back into his load and leads well with his lower half. He gets good leverage through a level swing path, leading to solid contact and gap to gap power. Overall, Cameron is a talented prospect who shows the potential to make an impact at the next level.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cameron continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (95 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range (6.90 60 time) as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip on his throws. Cameron is a very physical and athletic player. He has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the college coaches with his baseball abilities.

03/18/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Ashburn (DC), VA Cameron has the makings of a special type player as he continues to improve his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.25. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with carry on his throws. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average with tremendous power potential through an athletic setup. Swing path is level and works through an aggressive path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball with gap-to-gap pop. On the bump, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his loose, quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as indicated by his top velocity of 78 mph. Fastball showed range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Off speed pitches show potential as being quality pitches. Control is well above average as he locates to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

03/18/2018 - College PREP - Ashburn (DC), VA Cameron continues to shine on the diamond as he continues to show improvements. At the plate he has improved his hitting abilities, now displaying well above average potential. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing, displaying gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he utilizes his quick, athletic feet in tracking balls down as he reads ball well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Cameron shows athleticism, size, and strength (his grip strength is the highest we have seen among high school aged players in the last 5 years) makes him a solid college prospect.

06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he his top velocity to date at 74 mph with arm side run. Fastball showed a range of 71-74 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is extremely coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/26/2017 - College PREP - Ashburn (DC), VA Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential are now solid as he works through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. He is aggressive but needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Breaking ball displays 11/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

03/13/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Ashburn (DC), VA Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball tools. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 70 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. At the plate, hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive type approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. Cameron has abilities with time and room to continue to progress his game.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Cameron is a R/R OF who worked hard on his game during his time in Pirate City. Offensively, this righty steps into the box looking to swing it. He shows an athletic/balanced setup with patience tracking pitches into the zone. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and connects with some pop. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively and create more extension through contact. In the OF, he takes proper first steps and works to get behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2-hands and gathers well, with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, he shows good mound presence and composure. Fastball showed in the mid 60 range with some run. Breaking ball displays 9/3 shape with early action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. A 2019 grad - Cameron has abilities with time to continue to develop on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
