06/13/2009 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1 Bauer improved his 60-yard dash, down from 7.35 to 7.02. In addition, he jumped his top end fastball velocity three mph, up from 75 to 78 mph. His fastball had some arm side life, and he did a good job of locating it to both sides of the plate. His secondary pitches proved to be his biggest areas for improvement this time out. He slowed his body and arm on his change, and needs to work on staying on top of his breaking ball better. Deceptive arm angle and improving velocity make him interesting, though at least one secondary pitch will have to develop in order for his value to improve. At the plate, he showed good hands and improved his hitting ability nearly a half grade. His outfield arm strength improved a half grade, though he still could work to raise his slot. Overall, a solid left handed pitching prospect, with possible two-way potential in the right situation.
