12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Carlos is a coachable LHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. On the mound, Carlos repeats his delivery and hides the ball well. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph. Breaking ball sits from 61-62mph with 2-8 break. Carlos can improve as a pitcher by keeping his front side strong. In the field, Carlos shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange to throw and keeps his throws consistent to his target. Carlos can improve defensively by getting back on fly balls and working through them. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He gets into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He produces fast bat speed through zone which leads to solid contact to his pull side. Carlos can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter swing to the ball. Overall, Carlos is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.
