10/13/2021 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Carson is an OF/RHP prospect in the class of 2025. He is a very athletic player with high upside. In the outfield, he does a great job showing off his speed by being very aggressive to the baseball. He does a very good job creating momentum to throw and was up to 93 MPH on his throws into the infield. At the plate, he showed a very good lower ½ along with a great approach. He consistently made hard contact with help from a direct swing path. In game action he got on base 5 times in 3 games. On the mound, he continued to impress. He pitched ahead with his fastball and was up to 85 MPH. Showed a good breaking ball with 11-5 shaped action. Also flashed a decent changeup to help keep hitters off balance. Carson is a very good ballplayer with a bright future, we hope to see him again soon in the future.

02/14/2021 - All-In Membership - Monticello, IA Carson is a RHP/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Carson shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 56-60mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 62-67mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Carson be more controlled throughout his delivery. In the field, Cason takes good angles and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes on-line throws through his target. Carson can build up his arm strength by long tossing. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He swings with intent and drives the ball with authority (89mph exit velo). Working through a shorter, more level swing can help Carson create more consistent contact. Overall, Carson is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/20/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Omaha, NE Carson showed well at both positions during his last workout in Omaha. He increased arm velocity to 73 MPH, and showed a spike in defensive and offensive numbers. On the mound, Carson has good balance, a loose arm, and he throws strikes. He uses his body well, he gets solid extension on his pitches, and finishes out over his front knee. At SS, Carson moves athletically to the baseball, he looks it in, and has a strong arm across the diamond. Offensively, Carson has a tall/closed stance, he loads well, and works the middle of the field. He has good balance, a level swing, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
