01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Carson is a 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick (exit velocity 80 mph). At 3B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws (80 mph velocity) zipping across the diamond. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 68-71 mph and shows with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Carson is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Carson makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Carson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Carson can improve as a hitter by staying compact. On the mound, Carson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes square to his target. Carson shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 58-59mph with 12-6 break. Lengthening his arm action can help Carson improve as a pitcher. Overall, Carson is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

05/25/2019 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Carson continues to shine on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to show well through an open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach and shows a solid feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break and late depth. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Carson is a talented 3B/RHP prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball. As a right-handed hitter, Carson has an open, tall setup with a centered balance. He has high hands with a small load and controlled stride. Carson shows fluid rhythm and gets good extension with his swing. He has average bat speed and shows inconsistent swing paths. Carson shows the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. In the field, Carson has an athletic ready position. He presents his glove and fields the ball out in front in a square position. Carson has a clean exchange leading into a fast arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with momentum towards his target showing accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, Carson shows a good presence and is ready to compete. He has a balanced delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. Carson has a long arm action. He has a controlled landing and stays in line with home plate. Carson commands his fastball showing good cut movement. His curveball has medium break and he locates a changeup with run movement. Overall, Carson competes on both sides of the ball and has potential to get even better.

06/16/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Carson is a talented 3B/RHP prospect who has versatile skill set. Offensively, Carson has a solid setup with a square stance. He has a load and maintains direction with his stride. Carson shows a long swing path with a level barrel. He can drive the ball to each gap and shows power to the pull side. In the field, Carson works hard and makes the routine plays. He show solid footwork when needing to field the ball with his backhand. He fields the ball with high hands with his weight on his heels. Carson has a long arm action and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. He is working to play through the baseball and is developing arm strength. On the mound, Carson keeps his eyes on his target and stays inline. He throws from an over the top arm slot with a stiff arm action. Carson has a controlled landing square to home plate with the proper stride length. He finishes with an upright chest and can work on being ready to field his position. Overall, Carson is a great teammate who has potential to get even better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
