03/17/2024 - National Showcase - Greenville, SC Carson is an athletic SS who showed as a prospect at the event. In the middle infield, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth/fluid actions. He starts in an athletic ready position and fields in a square position. Glove action is sure and presents well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting/power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Overall, Carson is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

09/10/2023 - National Showcase - Greenville, SC Carson is a 2025 switch-hitting SS prospect with a solid frame at 5'8" 160 pounds. At short, he shows off light, fluid footwork and agile range to both the glove side and backhand, while doing a great job of moving laterally to both. He gets in a squared, low, athletic fielding position and presents soft hands out in front. His hands and feet work in sync together. He has a quick, clean exchange and makes accurate throws across the diamond from multiple arm slots. His throws carry momentum to his target. He makes really athletic feeds on double play balls and shows off good movements around the bag on turns. At the plate, he starts in a squared, athletic stance with a little bit of a crouch. He gets a short, squared stride to the pitcher with a good load back. He has smooth movements in the box and does a really good job of staying centered through contact. His lower half leads and works through the baseball and he has a firm frontside. He shows off fast bat speed with a short, direct swing path to the ball. He makes hard, consistent contact and uses the whole field. He showed off a good amount of pop in the box. Overall, Carson is an exciting prospect that we expect to see playing at the next level in a couple of years!

07/10/2023 - National Showcase - Greenville, SC Carson continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities At SS, defensive abilities have improved, now displaying outstanding skills as he shows smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body, gaining ground. Hands are clean and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, showing as a switch hitter with outstanding abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn.

12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Carson is a 2025 SS out of Greer, SC who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. He's coachable, works hard, and is a team player. At SS, he starts in a relaxed ready position and has on-time rhythm to his actions. Showed ability to close distance on batted balls and has a 2-hand exchange. Made accurate throws to first base, with a quick arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 80mph. Showed good internal clock as he gets rid of the baseball in a hurry. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with comfortable hands. A quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. A short/compact swing enables him to spray balls to all fields. In live game action, he proved to be a tough out and had 4 singles. Carson is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/23/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lexington, SC Carson is a solid SS who has a promising future on the on the diamond. In the SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.06 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Carson has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
