12/03/2017 - College PREP - Lewiston, ME Carson is a young, 2-way player who catches and plays 2nd base. Behind the plate, Carson sits in low, his feet are active, and he presents his glove well. He has a good presence behind the plate, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short/quick arm to 2nd base. Work on blocking, gaining more ground when throwing, and added arm strength will help catching get better. At 2B, Carson has good energy, efficient footwork, and he fields in a square position. He has firm hands, makes plays, and has an accurate arm to his target. Defensive skills can get better if Carson can play more through, soften his glove, and add arm strength. At the plate, Carson has an aggressive approach, a proper load, and good bat path. He can spray to all fields and uses his lower body. Hitting can spike with better barrel accuracy, not lunging, and added physical strength.
