06/06/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Carson continues to show some loud tools - especially for a 2022 grad. He ran a 6.88 in the 60, flashed 93 mph raw arm strength and recorded a 93 mph exit velocity. All us this from an athletic 6'1", 195-pound frame that moves well on the field. In batting practice Carson showed a simple stroke that generated power with some jump off the barrel. He fits best at a corner OF spot with a strong RF profile as his arm is not only strong, but also accurate. Carson also jumped on the mound with a FB that was up to 87 mph and excellent feel for a changeup. This looks to be a prospect who will garner a lot of attention during the next two years.

10/20/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Carson is a OF/RHP who has a bright future on the diamond. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate he continues to shine, displaying excellent power potential. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 82-84 mph. With 2 years to further to develop, Carson has tremendous upside and will get looks from top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
