01/10/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Jacksonville, FL Carson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Fastball shows a range of 78-80 mph with arm side run. Braking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side.

01/05/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Jacksonville, FL Carson is a LHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Carson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Carson shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 41-43mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 51-53mph with sinking action. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and is smooth getting into his load. He drives through well with his lower half and generates fast bat speed through the zone, leading to solid pop to his pull side. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

01/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Jacksonville, FL Carson is a solid, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Carson has a clean arm circle, he keeps his eyes on target, and gets good extension. He drives well off the rubber, lands with good direction toward home, and he competes in the zone. In the OF, Carson has playable hands and feet, he makes the routine plays, and throws with a long arm action to his cut off man. At the plate, Carson has a square set-up, he tracks the ball well, and stands in with solid balance. He swings on plane and uses some lower body. Overall skills can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
