11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Carson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball and utilizes all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 64 mph. Fastball shows a range of 62-64 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/25/2021 - All-In Membership - Frederick, MD Carson is a 3B/RHP who will graduate high school in 2025. Medium frame thick build, with some strength present, and plenty of room to develop. At 3B, Carson works to stay in front of ball as he tries to field baseball out front. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with on-line throws to first base. A right-handed pitcher, he gathers over the rubber and separates on time. Keeps eyes on target as lands square to the plate. Showed some glove side lead and ability to repeat his delivery. Was around the plate with all 3 of his pitches. Throws a FB that sits 57-60mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, Carson hits from an upright and closed stance. Showed good awareness of the strike zone. Opposite field approach who keeps his hands inside the baseball. Sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 69mph during his round of BP. With continued growth and development, we foresee Carson having opportunities to play at the high school level and beyond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
