11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Carter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show at 1B for the first time at the event. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 68 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He will benefit in developing a breaking ball as he continues to progress. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.
