08/09/2018 - Babe Ruth National All Star Classic Carter is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Babe Ruth National All Star Classic. In the field, Carter shows efficient footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and shows a quick release on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Carter can improve defensively by staying down on backhand plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and maintains center balance. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to consistent contact to all fields. Carter can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Carter stays compact as he gathers over the rubber and works with a quick, clean arm action. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 60mph. Changeup sits from 54-56mph as he throws with fastball arm action. Carter can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With six more years to develop, Carter has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
