05/28/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Carter gets better each time we see him, and he still seems to be just scratching the surface of what he can do. He has an outstanding frame that is athletic, strong and has the look of durability. He was up to 90 mph at the BF South Showcase and he did it with ease. He seems to just be playing catch yet the ball jumps out of his hand and has excellent carry through the catcher. It is easy to envision him posting some very high velocity numbers in the future. Carter complements his fastball with a 2-plane breaking ball and a developing change. Overall, this a high ceiling arm to follow closely.

06/16/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Carter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, feet are active as he moves well laterally, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he presents glove well out front. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a balanced setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a solid feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 10 with a 2B.

03/18/2018 - College PREP - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Carter is an athletic and talented 2021 3B/RHP prospect. At the hot corner, Carter has an active prep step and presents a low/early glove. He creates angles to the ball and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Carter starts in a squared stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He has fluid pre-pitch movement and keep the barrel level to the ball. He has a middle approach and uses the back side. Carter will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
