11/07/2021 - All-In Membership - Gambrills, MD Carter is a MIF in the 2023 class. Defensively, he exhibited the ability to make the routine play and keep the ball in front all while making accurate throws and turing a solid double play. Offensively, he utilized an open stance with a direct bat path to hit the ball to all fields with good barrel control. Carter will continue to develop based on his work ethic at events and we look forward to seeing the improvements in his game.

02/15/2021 - All-In Membership - Gambrills, MD Carter is a lean 2B/OF who will graduate in 2023. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At 2B, feet are active as he works to squares balls up but needs to attack more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, Carter has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
