12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Carter continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Behind the plate, Carter presents a good target to the pitcher and tracks the ball into his glove. He makes a clean exchange and throws from a 3/4 angle, working to keep his throws accurate to the 2B bag. He is efficient moving to block and covers up well. Carter can improve as a C by sitting in a more athletic stance. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/04/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Carter is a SS/C prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Carter shows fluid footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Behind the plate, Carter presents a god target and makes a clean exchange to throw, working to keep his throws accurate to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He shows fluid rhythm and drives through well with his lower half, leading to solid line drives. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
