01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Carter is a solid, strong 3B that will graduate in 2016 with tremendous offensive and defensive abilities. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying superior hitting with outstanding power potential. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered, as he works to stay inside the ball, displaying gap to gap power. At the event, he was 4 for 7 with a 3B. Foot speed is tremendous as indicated by his 6.81 60 time. At 3B, he displays superior defensive abilities as he utilizes his quick feet in his lateral movements, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he displays big play potential. Throws display life, accuracy, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly displaying outstanding arm strength. Carter has the makings of a special type player at the next level and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
