01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Mossey is a very athletic 2016 Outfielder. Covering a ton of ground in the OF, not surprising given his 6.57 60yd dash and very athletic frame(build). Has a good arm stroke in the OF and carries very good momentum as he plays through the ball well. Offensively, other than his speedy nature, he attacks fastballs, uses his whole body and strength to display his gap to gap power. Carter projects highly as an athletic OF at the next level.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Not only does Carter Mossey have present tools, but he also checks the intangible boxes of being a hard working, coachable, team player with strong aptitude. Defensively in the OF, he works to the ball very well, covering a lot of ground with his 6.6-6.7 speed, and makes plays with a sure glove. He has a quick release to throw accurately to his targets and sits in the upper 80s with his raw velo. Offensively, he showed an advanced approach and feel, getting into a strong position ready to hit, on-time. He showed plus bat speed and the ball jumped off when centered. That's not where the offense stops, when he got on the bases he continued to pound away and beat the other team with advanced feel and instincts. All in all - Carter is a very high energy player that has great feel and great intangibles, and will have a lot of success in the game.

10/04/2015 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO Carter is a talented OF prospect who has speed (60 in 6.66) and power (exit velocity = 90 mph). In the OF, he takes a quick first step working lightly on his feet covering a ton of ground. He gathers smoothly and gains ground toward his target, firing strong/accurate throws. At the plate, this RHH has an athletic/balanced setup with a solid base. He gets back into a loaded position waiting for his pitch. Swing is quick as he connects with authority and drives the ball with power. Carter (6'0"/180) is a special player who has the tools that will play at a very high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
