Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • C/3BPosition Projection

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Carter is a coachable C/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Carter presetns a good target to the pitcher and receives with a strong glove. He throws from a 3/4 angle down to 2B, getting good carry through the bag. Carter can improve defensively by moving to block sooner. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with comfortable hands. He makes consistent contact and drives to all fields. Getting his stride foot down sooner can help Carter improve as a hitter. Overall, Carter is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
