11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Carter continues to show a promising future on the diamond and has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 3. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 60 mph. Fastball showed a range of 55-60 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

09/08/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Carter is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. He gains momentum well on his throws and keeps them accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes his stride on time. He takes a direct swing and leads well with his lower half, leading to solid contact. On the mound, Carter gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He extends through his release and finishes square towards the plate. Carter shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 55mph. Breaking ball sits from 40-42mph with 9-3 break. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
