01/27/2019 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Carter showed improvements in all areas of his game during his last workout with The Factory. Defensive and offensive numbers spikes as well as raw velo (69 MPH) and exit velo (81 MPH). Behind the plate, Carter has fluid/active feet, agile movements, and he sits in low and athletically. He has firm/presentable hands, catches in rhythm, and has consistency to 2nd base after gaining some ground. Added polish and continuing to add arm strength will continue to help catching get better. Offensively, Carter has an aggressive approach through a balanced set-up and still head. He flashes fast bat speed, makes square contact, and he works the middle of the field. Better separation, rhythm, and a shorter stroke can help hitting numbers rise.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Carter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.25. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing, flashing gap-to- gap pop. At the event, he was 1 for 2 with 4 BB as he is patient and shows a solid eye. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/23/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Florence (Cincinnati), KY Carter is a solid, athletic, 2-way player who catches and plays 1B. Behind the plate, Carter has active footwork, a presentable glove, and he takes good angles to block. He keeps the ball in front when blocking, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum from a short arm action to his target. At 1B, Carter has good pre-pitch actions, efficient footwork, and he fields in good rhythm. He sticks the ball well, his exchange is clean, and delivers the ball with consistency to his target. At the plate, Carter has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings aggressively. He stays inside the ball, has a middle of the field approach, and he hits consistent line drives. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
