01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Carter is an athletic C prospect who showed well during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a square setup. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He generates explosive bat speed and produces loud contact and great pull side power (88mph exit velo). Behind the plate, Carter shows active footwork and gains ground when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line with carry through the 2B bag. Overall, Carter is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Carter continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.20 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Carter is an energetic and athletic C that will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, Carter shows a relaxed primary stance showing a good target receiving the ball with a firm glove. His secondary is athletic as he makes clean exchanges as he works to throw getting rid of the ball with a short arm action. Blocking, he gets to the ball on time showing effective lateral movements and recovers the ball quickly. At the plate, Carter sets up in a square and athletic stance with loose and comfortable hands. He gets his load to start the swing and fires the lower half through. He works hard to get the barrel on plane showing some pop with a gap to gap approach. Carter shows solid actions behind the dish and at the plate that will continue to improve as he gets older.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Lexington, KY Carter is an athletic and thick 2022 Catching prospect with a high ceiling. Behind the dish, Carter starts in a quiet primary stance, he works behind the ball, and has good actions on low pitches when receiving. When blocking, Carter kicks his feet back but does a good job controlling the ball with his chest. He creates good angles and recovers the ball well. When throwing, he has a clean exchange, he gains ground with his foot work, and has a quick release. At the plate, Carter starts in a tall and squared stance. He loads his hands back, he gets hos front foot down on time, and creates backside drive with his lower half. He gets to balanced position, he attacks the inside part of the ball, and shows some power to all fields. Carter will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Carter continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying tremendous hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball with gap-to-gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.15 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone through an athletic setup. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player, coachable, and plays the game hard.

01/27/2019 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Carter showed improvements in all areas of his game during his last workout with The Factory. Defensive and offensive numbers spikes as well as raw velo (69 MPH) and exit velo (81 MPH). Behind the plate, Carter has fluid/active feet, agile movements, and he sits in low and athletically. He has firm/presentable hands, catches in rhythm, and has consistency to 2nd base after gaining some ground. Added polish and continuing to add arm strength will continue to help catching get better. Offensively, Carter has an aggressive approach through a balanced set-up and still head. He flashes fast bat speed, makes square contact, and he works the middle of the field. Better separation, rhythm, and a shorter stroke can help hitting numbers rise.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Carter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.25. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing, flashing gap-to- gap pop. At the event, he was 1 for 2 with 4 BB as he is patient and shows a solid eye. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/23/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Florence (Cincinnati), KY Carter is a solid, athletic, 2-way player who catches and plays 1B. Behind the plate, Carter has active footwork, a presentable glove, and he takes good angles to block. He keeps the ball in front when blocking, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum from a short arm action to his target. At 1B, Carter has good pre-pitch actions, efficient footwork, and he fields in good rhythm. He sticks the ball well, his exchange is clean, and delivers the ball with consistency to his target. At the plate, Carter has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings aggressively. He stays inside the ball, has a middle of the field approach, and he hits consistent line drives. Carter can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
