01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Carter continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities at the All-America Pre-Season Tournament. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / clean and he presents well out front. Range is a plus (7.25 60 time) as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Overall, Carter is a talented prospect who will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Manalapan, NJ Carter is a RHP/SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame lean build with some strength present and room to add throughout. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He has a simple/repeatable delivery and works with good direction down the mound. He attacks hitters with his FB that sat 81-82mph with arm side run, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup that has good movement in the strike zone that he throws with FB arm speed. In the infield, has a good prep step, with quick/fluid footwork, and he shows good lateral range. He works to center the baseball, with soft hands out front, and ability to pick out hops. He made accurate throws throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 88mph across diamond. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Smooth timing to swing, with a flat barrel path, and swings with intent. Good hip turn enables him to hit balls hard to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 89mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Carter having opportunities to play at the next level.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Carter continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.19 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are firm and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting abilities are outstanding with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all field with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

12/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Manalapan, NJ Carter is a young SS with an athletic frame. Defensively, Carter has an aggressive approach, he covers ground well, and he feels in a low athletic position. He has good pre-pitch actions, an aggressive approach to the ball, and has a clean exchange with an accurate arm across the diamond. Carter can approve defensive abilities with quicker feet, gaining more ground through the ball, and with added arm strength. Offensively, Carter has an athletic/crouched stance, a square stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He hits from a solid base, swings with good intent, and he make square contact while showing the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Carter will need to improve his lower half usage and firm up his front side in order for offensive numbers to get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
