Hands are soft / sure and he present well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Arm strength is outstanding with throws displaying life, accuracy, and carry across the diamond. At the plate, he shows a tall, athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break and shows potential as being a quality pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Carter has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
