Official Scouting Report

  • 4Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Carter is an athletic SS/RHP who showed as a top prospect All-America Pre-Season Tournament. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He starts in an athletic ready position and fields in a square position. Glove action is sure and present well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.10 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact, showing a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, he shows a 2 pitch mix, keeping hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 83-84 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 69-70 mph with late 12/6 shape with downward break and shows as a filthy pitch that will get outs. Control is solid as he attacks hitters, works both sides of the plate, and throws strikes with all his pitches. Carter has a big upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
