07/09/2011 - Cape Cod Pro Select Training - July 9-13, 2011 Case is a tall, thick, 2-way player who pitches and catches. On the mound, Case works in good tempo, he has good separation, and he competes in the zone. He raised his FB speed up to 76 MPH, his CB shows good shape, and he fields his position well. Mound effectiveness can further improve if Case can lengthen his arm action, improve his extension, and loosen his front landing leg. At 3rd base, Case is a coachable young player who communicates well. He has a good set-up, he makes the routine plays, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. Case has a clean exchange, and he throws with accuracy across the diamond. Defensive abilities can improve with quicker feet, looser actions, and added arm strength. Offensively, Case is a contact hitter who stays on top of the ball and who works the middle of the field. He has good bat speed, he can spray to all fields, and he has some pop to the pull side. An improved set-up, a looser grip, and more direct hands to the ball will help offensive tool grades spike.
