06/25/2013 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Casey is a lanky, athletic OF/RHP that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects better on the mound for the next level. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work well to the plate through an over the top arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 80-83 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball is a quality pitch that will get outs at the next level, displaying 10/4 shape with sharp breaking action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches and locates to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. In the OF he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through and improve defensive grade. At the plate, Casey shows a balanced approach. Swing path is a short / direct to the baseball but needs to work on keeping hands inside the ball to utilize all fields and improve hitting grades. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to utilize his lower half more through the swing. Casey has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
