07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Cason continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 67 mph. Fastball shows a range of 66-67 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/25/2018 - Interactive Video Program - West, TX Cason is a young, 2-way player with an athletic build. At SS, Cason has efficient footwork, he covers ground well, and fields in a low/athletic position. He gives good effort, plays through properly, and throws with a long arm action with momentum toward his target. On the mound, Cason stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a loose arm action, and he repeats his delivery well. He separates on-time, gets good extension, and rotates through toward his target. Offensively, Cason has a square set-up, a proper load, and decent bat speed. He has activated hands, he makes consistent contact, and can he work the ball gap to gap. Cason can get better with work on the following.

Defense
1. Exchange
2. Arm strength/accuracy
3. Quicken feet
Pitching
1. Lower body
2. Avoid throwing across body
3. Long toss
Offense

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
