07/14/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Cason continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact (84 mph exit velocity) and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength continues to improve as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on the pitch.

07/16/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Highland Park (DFW), TX Cason showed improvements in many areas during his last workout with The Factory. Radar velocity increased to 74 MPH, exit velocity to 80 MPH, and hitting numbers improved to 42 and 45. At SS, Cason has quick/fluid feet, agile movements, and he takes good angles to field the baseball. He has soft/presentable hands and a quick arm action with accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Cason has good balance and a loose arm circle. He has a simple delivery, a controlled landing, and he competes in the zone. Offensively, Cason has good balance, a square/athletic stance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, finds the barrel consistently, and he uses his lower body. Continued work on the following can help overall skills continue to get better.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Cason continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 67 mph. Fastball shows a range of 66-67 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/25/2018 - Interactive Video Program - West, TX Cason is a young, 2-way player with an athletic build. At SS, Cason has efficient footwork, he covers ground well, and fields in a low/athletic position. He gives good effort, plays through properly, and throws with a long arm action with momentum toward his target. On the mound, Cason stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a loose arm action, and he repeats his delivery well. He separates on-time, gets good extension, and rotates through toward his target. Offensively, Cason has a square set-up, a proper load, and decent bat speed. He has activated hands, he makes consistent contact, and can he work the ball gap to gap. Cason can get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
