Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

11/18/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Fall Prospects Tournament (HS) Cayden is a 2023 RHP/1B who showcased his skills during the Fall Prospects Tournament. At 1B, he is a big target who showed ability to scoop balls with soft hands that work out front. He worked to center the baseball and has a low funnel. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and keeps his feet activate during the throwing process. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with loose hands. He hits into a firm frontside and showed good barrel control. He made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. During the games, he made consistent contact and reached base multiple times. A right-handed pitcher, he has good feel for pitching and is composed on the mound. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a quick arm stroke, and accelerates out front. He has some deception to his delivery as he hides the ball well. Attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 67mph with plus command, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that he throws with good arm speed. In 2 innings of work, Cayden punched out 3 batters and didn't allow a run. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as Cayden enters his senior baseball season.

01/09/2022 - All-In Membership - Houston, TX Cayden is a RHP/2B who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame lean build, with long levers, and some strength present. At 2B, he starts with active feet and has a low funnel. He creates good fielding angles and works to center the baseball. Fields from a square fielding position, with his eyes behind his glove, and has a clean exchange. Made accurate/on-line throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with good momentum towards target, and an arm velocity up to 72mph to first base. Showed good touch on his DP turns. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He gets a good rear hip coil, with a good balance point, and works with good direction. He has a simple/repeatable delivery. Throws a FB that sits 61-63mph with good command, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with plus command, a slider he throws from the same window as CB, and a developing changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. CB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Starts with a short glide step and is centered at contact. Showed good hand/eye coordination during his round of BP. A direct barrel path enables him to hit balls consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. With another year of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
