12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Cayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with gap to gap pop. At the event, he was 4 for 9 with a 2B. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 81 mph. Fastball showed a range of 79-81 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with loose spin and gradual break. He maintains arm speed and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/14/2020 - All-In Membership - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Cayden is a big/strong/projectable (6'3"/200) RHP who pounds the zone with strikes. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works tall, has smooth separation and keeps his eyes on the target. He drives downhill, in-line toward the dish. He maintains a good pace and gets strong glove-side lead. FB ranges from 79-80 mph as he works it in and out. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape ranging from 66-69 mph. Changeup has slight sink as he throws it with FB arm speed, helping to create deception. As a hitter, Cayden shows a tall/open stance with patience and a quiet head tracking pitches into the zone. He takes a hack, squares the ball up and drives it back up the middle of the field. This 2022 grad has upside and will compete when he steps onto the mound.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
