12/15/2018 - Texas Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend
Cayden is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Texas Skills Weekend. Behind the plate, Cayden sets up in a low primary stance and tracks the ball into his glove well. He gets into a low secondary stance and gains ground on his throws to 2B. He makes a quick exchange and create momentum well. He moves on time to block and takes good angles to the ball. Getting into his secondary stance sooner can help Cayden improve as a C. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time and hits from a strong front side. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to consistent contact to all fields. Cayden can improve as a hitter by getting more extension through the ball. With six more years to develop, Cayden has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
01/06/2018 - Southwest Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14)
Cayden is a hard working and athletic 2025 prospect. He's a student of the game and made several adjustments during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. Cayden starts in an athletic stance and has an open stride. Continuing to stride toward the pitcher and keeping his head down through contact will prevent him from leading with his elbow. He has a level swing and uses the lower half. Keeping good rhythm with his body and loading his hands into the drive position will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Cayden will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
