01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cedric continues to show progress in baseball tools. Behind the plate, pop times were in the 2.00 range with accuracy and on line carry on his throws. Feet are active, working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He plays with a ton of energy and shows the ability to handle a pitching staff with his receiving / blocking skills. At the plate, hands works inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 6 with a 2B.

07/20/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Cedric showed strictly as a backstop at the Baseball Factory National West Showcase. Defensively, he flashed pops in the 1.9 - 2.1 range with efficient feet and an accurate arm on bag. He sat with some decent ability, tracked the ball in and received with quiet actions and a subtle/sure glove. He was quick down to block and centered the ball on his chest. Offensively, he was aggressive to hit and displayed good overall hit ability. Barrel accuracy is evident as he keeps his head quiet and barrels balls up in game play. He had two singles in his plate appearances and put the ball in play the rest of the time to pressure the defense. This 2017 has strong upside with current measurables - including an 88 MPH exit velo - that will play.

12/27/2014 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Reynaud showed as a catcher at the event a promising future on the diamond and the makings of a special type player. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the low 2.10 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength and increases foot quickness. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a short / level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered as he works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. At the event, he was 9 for 11 with 2 2B and an outstanding tournament at the plate. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a tough kid, very coachable, and works hard to be the best player he can be.

04/06/2014 - College PREP - Albuquerque, NM Cedric has made great strides in his game. He excels at the plate where he can really swing the stick. Barrel delivery is short/quick to the zone with plus bat speed. He creates extension through the zone as the ball jumps off of his barrel. He will fit in the middle of a line-up with his ability to drive in runs. Behind the plate, Reynaud sits in well with good flexion. He presents a low target and has a quick exchange. Pop times are still in the low 2.1's as he fires accurate throws toward 2B. Only a Freshman - Cedric has a bright future in the game.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Cedric is a young, solid catcher that will graduate in 2017. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times show a range of 2.12-2.39 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Receiving / blocking skills are playable tools that at the next level as he continues to improve. At the plate, he shows a squared with balance setup and an aggressive approach. Hands are quick and work through swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and makes consistent contact as he shows a solid feel for barrel. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he learns to get his stride foot down sooner. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and loves to compete. With 3 years to further develop, Cedric has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
