01/11/2015 - National Tryout - San Antonio, TX Cesar showed only at SS at the event and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, defensive grade have improved, displaying clean / smooth actions. He moves well laterally, especially to glove side, attacks balls through an aggressive approach, displaying clean hands, and shows off his athletic abilities on the slow roller play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he presents hands more out front and improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program and work to get rid of the baseball quicker to improve arm grade. At the plate, he has improved his hitting / power grade through an athletic setup and aggressive approach. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path as he makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields and works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power numbers will continue to improve as he works to use his lower half more efficiently.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14) Cesar is an athletic shortstop who also pitches. In the infield, he has firm hands, efficient footwork, and playable range. He has an athletic fielding position and is aggressive to the ball with a quick exchange. At the plate he has a squared setup, good load, short stride, and good balance. He uses his lower half well and makes consistent contact with a level swing. On the mound, Cesar has a good mound presence. He gets to a good balance point and stays in line with his throws. He showcased a fastball and curve which he threw both for strikes. Has a clean delivery and should only get better with more arm strength.

05/19/2013 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Cesar is a tall and thin, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and pitches. Defensively, Cesar has soft / sure hands, he squares up well to the ball, and he follows his double plays well. He has a clean exchange, and delivers the ball with a short arm action with average strength to his target. On the mound, Cesar has a sound arm action, level shoulders, and good direction toward home. Offensively, Cesar has a square set-up, average bat speed, and he stays inside the ball. He lets it travel well and can spray to all fields. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
