11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Chance is a tall, lean RHP/3B that will graduate in 2018. At 3B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the routine plays. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack balls more while presenting hands more out front and increase foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and he attacks balls, making consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will increase as he learns to load more and utilize his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-74 mph with sinking action. Split finger is his best off speed pitch, showing as a quality pitch with tumbling action. He works through a quick tempo and throws strikes with all his pitches, working to get ahead of hitters. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Forbes has abilities with time and room to improve.
