Chance continues to fill out his frame again showing better numbers in his running time and overall arm evaluation. His defensive score also improved by showing sure hands, active feet and he made consistent throws to his target. He showed similar numbers hitting wise taking a direct bat path to the ball along with tracking and picking out good pitches to hit. Getting more out of his lower half will help improve power numbers. On the mound he showed similar skills with a fastball in the mid 70s with good rhythm and is in line directionally. Continued long toss and more strength will continue to help Chance develop his overall game.
07/18/2011 - College PREP - Carrollton (DFW), TX
Chance continues to show improvements in different parts of his game. He improved his sixty yard dash time as well as his arm strength. His numbers were similar both defensively and at the plate. He was also evaluated from the mound for the first time showing some potential with his lanky frame. He was very raw but threw his fastball between 74 and 76 mph with good command. He needs to continue to work on his off speed pitches and also the proper mechanics so that his hand separation and balance are better throughout his delivery. Overall strength and speed will help him develop different parts of his game to become the player he wants to be.
12/05/2010 - College PREP - Cedar Hill, TX
Chance is a young, thin, average sized SS who will graduate in 2013. Defensively, Chance has decent hands, playable feet, and a quick exchange. He moves okay laterally, makes plays, and can get rid of the ball quickly when starting the double play. Chance has a long / quick arm with life and accuracy to his target. Defensive abilities can further improve with a wider base, fielding the ball further out in front of his body, and not throwing against his body. At the plate, Chance has a tall stance, level swing path, and average bat speed. He is a pull type hitter who can put the ball in play. Chance will need to quicken his bat and improve his stride and barrel accuracy in order to improve offensive numbers.
