01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Chance continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he continues to show best through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick, and work through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he makes consistent contact and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and he showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life and carry on his throws.

10/25/2017 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Chance continues to show the makings of a special type player as he continues to improve his baseball tools. At 1B, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. He attacks ground balls and moves well laterally, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 4 for 10 with a HR. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be.

08/20/2017 - College PREP - Dickinson, ND Chance is a talented 1B prospect who has an athletic, broad-shouldered build and graduates in 2018. As a right-handed hitter, Chance has a square setup with a centered balance and firm front side. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and square stride. Chance shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path getting good separation. He engages his hips and produces hard contact. Chance is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Chance plays with an aggressive approach and fluid footwork. He covers good ground and presents his glove while fielding the ball in an athletic position. Chance has a quick, clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistently strong throws across the diamond. Overall, Chance has the talent and approach on both sides of the ball to be a difference maker at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
