07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Chance is a prospect on the diamond as he has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball showed a range of 77-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/14/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Lexington, KY Chance is a young, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Chance keeps his eyes on target, he separates on time, and gets good extension on his pitches. He has a clean arm action, good direction toward home, and finishes in a complete position. In the INF, Chance moves well to the ball, he fields in a square position, and he can throw from multiple arm slots to his target. At the plate, Chance has an open stance, good balance, and a level swing. He makes consistent contact, hits hard to the pull side, and he uses some lower body. Overall skills can improve if Change can work on the following.

Pitching
1. Off-speed
2. Arm strength
Infield
1. Release
2. Hands
3. Fielding position
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Stride
3. Let ball travel

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
