02/29/2020 - Baseball Factory Mid-Atlantic Offensive Skills Training - Columbia, MD (Ages 12-14) Chand is a young (2024 grad) 5'3"/100 RHH who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Offensive Skills Training weekend. At the plate, he displays an open stance with centered balance and smooth rhythm to load. He maintains a still head as he tracks pitches out of the pitchers hand and into the zone off of the barrel. Swing is direct and on-plane as he squares the ball up and hits line-drives. More power potential is there as he works to increase his bat speed and engage his lower 1/2 more.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Chand is an athletic and talented 2024 2-way prospect that worked hard all weekend. At SS, Chand starts in an athletic stance, he fields the ball in front of his body, and has smooth hands. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step and improve his first step to the ball. At the plate, Chand starts in a squared stance and is aggressive to the ball. He loads his hands back and hits off a firm front side. He shows a pull side approach but needs to continue to create backside drive and get the barrel inside the ball in order to use the whole field. On the bump, Chand gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a clean arm action. He throws across his body and has a weak front side. He needs to continue to ride that back leg toward the plate, work downhill, and finish over his front side. Chand will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
