12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Chandler is a solidly built C/1B prospect with high baseball IQ and the work ethic to become a prospect for the next level. A switch hitter, he shows very good contact ability at the plate with a level swing and the approach to use all fields, making him a tough out. Behind the dish, he has good feel for the position, knowing where to play and how to call an effective game. He is aggressive throwing behind runners with an accurate arm and shows low pop times to second base (2.19 seconds). Agility and quickness drills will improve footwork that will make him an even better blocker and an asset for pitchers. His hands are active at the plate, loading to a stacked position and launching through the zone on time. He is able to make consistent, square contact and shows spray tendencies, while being able to handle pitches in any quadrant of the zone. Chandler is an intriguing prospect who we look forward to continue watching.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
